The Studio Associato Pettenati - Turchetto (Pettenati - Turchetto Associated Marine Chemists) was appointed by the Port and Maritime Authorities as the "Chemist Service of the Port", the competence of which lies within the Maritime Directorate of Trieste and the work undertaken concentrates mostly in this sphere.

The Marine Chemists of the Port of Trieste and Monfalcone's work supports the ship building and maritime transport industries by checking and establishing the safety conditions required to carry out repair work and/or commercial transactions and correlated activities. All work is carried out in keeping with local by-laws and national or international regulations in force.

Therefore the Associated Marine Chemists mainly operate in the naval and port sphere but also offer their services to land-based businesses in the analysis of risk and assessment of chemical risk sectors.
